Friday, 10:40 pm
Well, we finally hit the road at around 5:30 Friday night, beating our all time record! We had to turn back once ‘cause my dad forgot all the money (we ended up finding it in the recycle bin, imagine that!) and my iPod mysteriously deleted all my songs, so of course, we had to turn back to burn my songs back on. For those of you who know me well, I can’t live without my country music.
So far I’ve experienced cold showers in thirty-seconds flat, trying to find something to eat because we forgot the can opener (a lot of our food is canned, for example, how in the heck to you make a dang quesadilla without any beans?) and 60 degree weather and rapidly warming to the mid 70’s by Tuesday. Aren’t you jealous? C’mon, admit it, I KNOW you are!
Anyhoo, after two days of almost continuous driving, we finally stopped in St. Augustine, Florida. We started at a museum in the Visitors Center first, and then the Spanish Quarter, which was kinda like Connor Prairie, if you’ve ever been there. We talked to the carpenter, the herboligist, and some other guy who kept sewing on buttons, all I know was that he portraying a man from a long, long, time ago who worked in the military.
By that time, we were all starving, and we had eaten all the food my mom packed for Katty. So, after my dad ran back to the RV to get some sweatshirts (there was a cool breeze coming in), we went to the Seafood festival, my favorite part of the day. Lol. We bought a bunch of stuff including Crab (that was really good), Shrimp, Alligator (yes, it doesn’t sound to great but it’s not bad at all, a little chewy, but awesome) Fish and who knows what else that was on the plate.
After stuffing our pie holes full with delicious, innocent sea beings, we took a walk over to the Fort that used to guard the city. We wandered around there till about 3:30, when they were going to shoot a cannon off. My family has seen demonstrations like this before but we decided to go ahead and stay for the show. The people who were firing it were yelling in Spanish (since it used to be a Spanish colony) and you couldn’t make out a word they were saying. We could barely hear them anyway because we were too far away.
Right at this very moment, we are in Ft. Lauderdale, very close to the hotel but we seem to be stuck in a very, very, very slow traffic jam. So I’m just gonna sit here and type to all y’all out there cause I have nothing else to do ‘cept my science test and I’d like to put that off as long as possible.
I gotta go now, we’re almost at the hotel and that means unloading all our clothes, and anything else we might need (I’m thinking food). So, you’re probably all waiting for me to sign off so you can comment this wonderful, amazing post (you better comment) so I’ll let you go. Please comment, I need to know somebody pays attention to me out there and doesn’t leave me in traffic jams with only a laptop to talk to. If you do, you are just plain cruel and hard hearted. I have to go, my invisible friend Pinkie Gladys Gutzman is calling me. I’M COMING PINKY!

I can't believe you ate alligator!
You had to be hungry.
Your brave for a "blonde".
Andrew
Alligator? I agree with Andrew! Although, I'm not sure about the brave part. Anyhoo, life is completely boring hear. Well its not boring, its just that we aren't doing anything. I mean NOTHING! I am jealous though, it only got to 50 degrees today. I was doing school in my bedroom so I opened my window to let some fresh air in. It was so nice! I had to close it after a while because it got cold. I can't wait till its warmer- then we can wear flip flops! Talk to u later!
