Happy Easter

"Religion is a to-do list. Salvation is what has been done for you." Just a thoughtful note from Rick Warren's sermon this morning at Saddleback Chuch. Great sermon . . . Great place to worship on Easter. By the way, Happy Easter from the Ellis clan.

Saddleback Church is just one more reason for me to love California. And I do love California. I love the sunny skies, the ever-blooming flowers, and the gentle ocean breeze. Speaking of the beaches, ah the beaches. California beaches are alive. Tide pools, purple clam shells, crabs, pelicans, sea gulls, sea lions, cliffs that hold sea caves and tunnels . . . unfortunately millions of other people discovered the charms of California long before we did. The demand for land in California has driven the price of real estate far beyond the Ellis family budget. So we'll stick with cheap Indiana clay - no matter how bland the views might be.

So while we're here in sunny California, my mother-in-law has decided to clean our house for us. To any of you that know Donna, this is amusing to you I'm sure. You see, Donna is a neat-freak, to put it mildly. She irons her sweats. She washes her vacuum after use. She even vacuums her attic. Needless to say, my house was just not measuring up to her standards. And frankly, I don't have the time or the gumption. So it'll be interesting to see how neat the place is upon our return. I think we'll need to throw a party to get it back to its usual state.

Talk to you soon,

Travelin' Mom

Hi Lisa-I noticed your Easter blog didn't get any responses so I thought that I would help out. That's really funny that your mother-in-law is cleaning the house while you are away. I trust that she is not computer literate and that no one has given her your blog address. Otherwise, you're in trouble when you get back (hmmmm)!
My mother-in-law visited for a week recently. Oh the fun we had! First we went JOGGING together. That Martha was ten paces ahead of me at all times! I just couldn't keep up. Next we went SHOPPING at the health food store and finally, bought some MATCHING OUTFITS(size 6 of course)....Okay those are lies, here's the scoop. I went walking alone or with the dog. Martha slept in the recliner most of the week. When she shopped, it was to buy lots of candy. We could never have matching outfits because I like my polyester pants to reach my shoes. Alright, that's a lie too. I don't like polyester...AND I went back on weight watchers(that size 6 part was just a dream. I'd be happy with an 8). That's the mother-in-law saga from the Fort. Hope your trip continues to be fun and safe!

Peace and Harmony, (inspired by your California leg of the trip)

Eileen
P.S. Is the scarf done? I am setting up a blockage at the Indiana border and will not let you enter without one completed knitted scarf.
