Tentative Schedule

Howdy!

Hola might be the more appropriate word here. So HOLA! I know i said yesterday that I have no idea what we'll be doing in Guatemala- and I'm still not quite sure but here's a tentative schedule so you can be a little less confused. Hopefully

Clarion Hotel - Detroit Metro Airport

Wednesday, May 28 – Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Casa Bernabe Orphanage. Construction, painting, and anything else they need us to do.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Depart for Antigua early morning
Guys: Bike Volcanoes (I'd love to go but mom said no- argh)


Women: Tour Santa Domingo, Las Capuchinas, La Merced, Hike volcano
Stay at the Monastery that night


Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Drive 3 hours to Pana early morning
Note: There are ruins between Antigua and Pana
Hike nature preserve, kayak, dive lake, tour the city
Stay in Pana


Thursday, June 5, 2008
Drive 1 ½ hours to Chichicastenango
Tour the Market
Drive 1 ½ hours back to Pana (Chicken Bus!!!)
Stay in Pana

Friday, June 6, 2008
Catch the boat that tours the villages of Lake Atitlan
Drive 3 hours to Guatemala City
Stay in Guatemala City
Posada Belen Museum Inn


Saturday, June 7, 2008
Drive 5 hours to Frontera
Stay in Frontera, on the Rio Dulce at Tijax


Sunday, June 8, 2008
Finca El Paraiso Waterfalls and Pools
Boat Trip up the Rio Dulce to Livingston
Tour ocean village of Livingston

Monday, June 9, 2008
Swim, Castille de Phillipe
Drive 5 hours to Guatemala City

Then we're HOME!!

Most likely we'll have internet access the majority of the second week so thats when you can expect the updates on the blog. But check the first week too because you never know! Only a couple more hours!

Hi Morgan ~ I work with your Dad at IBM (in California). I met you many years ago when you were out here on vacation. With $4 gas I am glad to hear you left the RV parked at home. Boy, driving to Central America truly would have been a Ellis adventure to remember; then again they all are :-)
